Dr. Craig Staebel

Craig Staebel M.D. – Plastic Surgeon Georgetown, Austin, & Round Rock

Background & Education
Texas raised, Dr. Staebel is an unabashed lover of the region. He went from Houston, where he spent his childhood, straight off to Texas A&M University for undergraduate schooling—graduating with Honors and going promptly into medical training at the A&M College of Medicine, where he also finished with Honors.

Plastic Surgery Residency

From there he would make his way to Temple, Texas, to begin his Residency at the Scott & White Hospital. He was accepted into the six-year Plastic Surgery Residency program to complete his formal training in every aspect of plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery under some of the nation’s leading surgeons.

He excelled. By his final year,  Dr. Staebel was serving as the program’s chief resident. Then, with residency behind him, Dr. Staebel completed the challenging year and a half board certification process and was awarded certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. His current standing allows him to perform plastic surgery at several surgical centers in Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, as well as other facilities in the area.

Personal Beliefs

Cosmetic surgery is a very personal decision. Whether a medical condition has led you to consider the procedure or it’s purely cosmetic, a key responsibility of your doctor to make sure you are wholly informed of the process. How else could you be expected to make such an important decision?

Setting expectations is critical. Plastic surgery is not magic. Dr. Staebel will not hesitate to tell you what realistic outcome you should expect following your procedure. We don’t want surprises—except the good kind.

We’ll tell you what’s possible, how it’s done, what the procedure involves, what the recovery involves, what potential risks you face, and after that, if you’re still serious about having the procedure, we’ll set a date.

Dr. Staebel has focused on breast and body contouring surgery for many years.   Of course, every case is unique. Dr. Staebel really enjoys getting to know his patients to help guide them to the best decision regarding their rejuvenation needs.  He personally performs nearly every visit with his surgical patients whether it is the initial consultation, preoperative instructions or the aftercare visits.  He prefers not to delegate these functions to nurses or assistants who simply can’t know the details of your surgery as well as he does.  He maintains a very personable environment in his office and you will never feel like one of many on an ‘assembly line’.
